The Influence of Apperance Management Behaviors in Elder People on Apperance Satisfaction and Self Esteem

Abstract

|
The study aimed to identify the influence of appearance management behaviors, satisfaction with physical appearance and in elder people on self esteem through the analysis of structure model. Quantitative data, from 342 people over sixty years of age living in Daegu was collected. Major findings were as follows; 1) There were difference m appearance satisfaction in terms of skin and hair care and in self esteem in terms of weight management, hair care and clothing behavior. An analysis of the data revealed the more people got skin and hair treatments the higher ,was. Also, the more people did weight management, hair care, clothing behavior and the more people had appearance satisfaction, self esteem increased. 2) To summarize the effects of variables in self esteem, appearance satisfaction was the most highly affected, followed by clothing behavior and weight management.
